Liangzhu Archaeological Park rewards visitors who enjoy reading interpretation and walking through a landscape. Do not expect rows of intact ancient buildings: its interest comes from the relationship between surviving remains, terrain and explanations of an early city. Set aside roughly half a day for the park. A museum visit needs separate travel and viewing time.

Book the park, not a different Liangzhu venue
The official visitor page places the archaeological park in Pingyao Town, Yuhang District, Hangzhou, while Liangzhu Museum is at 1 Meilizhou Road. These are different entrances and destinations. Confirm 良渚古城遗址公园 and the entry gate for your booking when navigating.
UNESCO describes Liangzhu as evidence of a rice-cultivating society and early urban civilization dating to approximately 3300–2300 BCE. A useful question to bring is how modest-looking remains and landforms can reveal a complex, organized city.
Start with the overview map
Identify the open areas, interpretation points, rest facilities and return arrangements before walking far. Understand the broad layout, then choose a few areas to examine. You do not need to memorize every archaeological name on a first visit; distinguishing the ancient city, surviving remains and modern presentation is a good start.

Examine a few displays carefully
Follow the open route and connect each panel’s text and diagrams with the terrain in front of you. Distinguish reconstructed or explanatory displays from original remains. Modern interpretation helps explain the past; it does not imply that ancient buildings survive complete.
If using park transport, check its ticket, stops and final departures. Straight-line map distances do not reliably indicate walking effort. Stay within the designated route and never cross a conservation boundary to reach another stop more quickly.

Leave time to reflect
Before finishing, return to your opening question: what did the layout reveal, and which information came from the remains versus the interpretation? With children, ask them to explain one display they understood rather than counting photographs or stops.
Arrange Liangzhu Museum separately if your priority is excavated objects. Do not assume a park ticket covers the museum or that their opening days and reservations are identical. These photographs concern the archaeological park, not objects in the museum collection.

Reservations and preparation
The official visitor website provides real-name booking and transport information. Check the official ticketing notice for your actual date for prices, concessions and accessible areas. Book ahead and do not treat a short promotional offer as a permanent admission policy.
Much of this outing is outdoors. Bring drinking water, sun protection and walking shoes, and reduce prolonged exposure in hot weather. Ask ahead about suitable routes for a wheelchair, stroller or other mobility support. Adjust plans during adverse weather rather than trying to complete the entire park at all costs.
